Hello — and thank you for your interest in our event. For those coming from out of town or those who have never been to our dojo, please be advised of the following information. First, the dojo is located at the Orangevale Youth Center complex. It is difficult to see off the street and is across the street from the main community center. Orangevale Park (not OV Community Park) sits in front of the building. If coming via Hazel Ave from Roseville, it will be on your RIGHT shortly after passing Elm Ave. If coming via Hazel Ave from Fair Oaks/Rancho Cordova, it will be in the LEFT shortly after passing Central Ave. You will enter the complex via LINDA LANE. Do Not believe your GPS as it will lead you astray.
The Seikeikan dojo is one with the force, and the force is with us. As such, we are in harmony with our host and other programs that use the facility before us. So please be aware of the following etiquette:
— Participants are requested to be at the dojo no later than 15 minutes before the beginning of the sessions.
— Typically, shoe’s are removed before entering and lined up outside. However, please remove and bring into the dojo with you.
— On Monday, 3/20, if you arrive at or before 6:30pm, please note there will be another class in session. DO NOT enter the building until instructed to do so by a member of the Seikeikan.
— Tuesday, 3/21, the Aikido youth class begins at 6:30pm. When you arrive at the dojo, please enter quietly as to not disrupt the class in session. While in the changing area, please keep your voices down as they tend to travel and are amplified. Either remain in the changing area or proceed to the side yard and warm up, weather permitted.
— For any non-Aikido Yoshinkai participants, please leave your hakama’s at home. Per Aikido Yoshinkai tradition and etiquette, the
hakama will only be worn by the instructor and/or dojocho. No
The nearest hotel to the dojo is the Comfort Suites and Inn in Rancho Cordova. It is directly off US Hwy 50 and Hazel Avenue. While it generally only takes about 10-15 minutes to reach the dojo, there is construction on Hazel Ave. Be sure to give yourself plenty of time.
