The first half of the meeting we will socialize and have a round table discussion based on the interests of participants. During the second half of the meeting, Laura Gale, LCSW, will provide a presentation on Policy Advocacy for the Clinical Social Worker, which will be worth 1 CEU!

Presentation: «Policy Advocacy for the Clinical Social Worker»
Many social workers want to be involved in social change but in the current political climate, it can be hard to know how to take action. In this workshop you will learn how clinical principals, skills, and best practices can be applied to macro social work. 1 CEU will be provided!
Topics covered will include:
-Assessment, goal formulation, intervention, termination and follow-up in macro practice
-Conscious use of self and the development of personal power resources
-Using a strengths-based approach in a non-progressive political environment
1 CEU will be provided!
Presenter: Laura Gale is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a background in community mental health and child welfare. She has held roles as an individual, family and group therapist, clinical supervisor, and agency administrator. Laura is currently a Senior Lecturer at the University of Southern California Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work where she teaches policy and clinical practice classes in both the Social Change and Innovation and the Adults and Healthy Aging departments.
