The Ross & Gladys Hanna Community Concert Series is in its third year. It was established to honor the long-time contributions of Ross & Gladys Hanna to the musical arts in Dixon. Ross served as director of the Phirehouse Philharmonic that delighted Dixon audiences for many decades and raised a lot of money for various charitable organizations. Gladys was always at his side, singing and performing in many productions. Since Ross’ death in 2014, Gladys has continued to be an enthusiastic supporter of music in community life.
The concerts are held at the historic sanctuary of Dixon United Methodist Church, located at 209 N. Jefferson St., across from the Dixon Chamber of Commerce. Tickets for the concert are $10 for adults and $5 for child/student (17 & under). All proceeds from the concert will benefit the musicians. One of the goals of the concert series is to support musicians, who contribute so much to the health and well-being of the community. BTW, Facebook says:
«Events with large invite lists often get reported as spam, so we limit the number of people any one person can invite to 500 invites per event. If we notice you're sending a large number of invites that people are not responding to, we'll limit the number of invites further for a short period of time.»
...so as a courtesy, please respond whether you'll be attending or not. Thanks!
