Come enjoy the autumn season at the State Indian Museum on “Acorn Day” and celebrate the acorn, a traditional dietary staple of California Indians. Guests to the State Indian Museum will enjoy hands-on learning about the time-honored tradition of preparing acorns for food. Special guest Diana Almendariz, Wintu/Maidu, will demonstrate traditional acorn processing that is fascinating to watch. She will also explain how to gather, store, and prepare acorns.
