2017 National Road Race Champion and coach Michael O'Rourke of Proactive Personal Training is excited to collaborate with Rocklin Endurance Sports to present a weekly clinic and skills ride.
An open group ride for those who want to improve their pack riding and racing skills. This is targeted for those with minimal to moderate group ride/race experience. Each week will present a different challenge of skills and drills both on a closed course and on the road. Braking, Balance and Control, Cornering, Pack Riding Skills, Pace Lines, Sprinting, Climbing, Descending, just to name a few. There's a challenge for every level!
Duration/Distance: ride will be roughly 20-25 miles, flat to rolling terrain on open roads in the Rocklin/Lincoln/Loomis area. All traffic laws will be observed at all times. Route TBD. Ride time should be 90-120 min, depending on pace.
When: Tuesdays @ 5:30. First ride is July 11th, and will run for 4 weeks consecutively, and longer if turnout demands. Rides are postponed to the following week if temp is expected to be over 100f. Continual attendance is recommended but not required.
Other details: This is essentially a «no drop» ride, but regrouping will be pre-determined and limited in the best interest of the group learning experience. There is no follow vehicle, so be sure to bring all the essentials: A well tuned bike, helmet, spare tube, air, hydration and ride fuel. Know how to fix a flat. If you're lacking in any of these areas, just ask the shop for help. They'll set you up like a pro!
