Immerse yourself in a technique filled mixed media surface design exploration with acrylic inks. We'll cover 10 textile techniques over the course of 2 days.
Learn to create colorful textured backgrounds by manipulating fabric and using a variety of different tools for applying inks, explore mark making with wood, foam and rubber stamps, paint pens, and an assortment of tools for painting fine lines and details, create the look of watercolor with out paint bleeding, incorporate printed paper imagery with collage techniques, explore building translucent layers of painted color by cutting masks and using simple resists from common items found in the home and office supply.
You’ll be amazed by the versatility of painting fabric with acrylic inks.

$99 + $35 supply fee payable to instructor day of class

One large plastic bag, a variety of round and flat synthetic bristle brushes, foam brush, foam and/or hand carved rubber stamps, wood stamps, large paint palette that can hold separate colors of ink (disposable plastic plates or old muffin tins work great), large container for rinse water, 1 yd. freezer paper, scissors, pencil, permanent black marker, paper towels
Supplies included in $35 fee:
1 yd. of pfd fabric, handouts, 1 sheet printed abaca paper, large synthetic bristle paint brush, and shared use of: acrylic inks, acrylic gel matte medium, colorless extender and various other small tools and supplies
Please Note: Lunch is not provided for this event. Attendees will need to bring their own sack lunch.
