A word from Ms. Rachel Ann Wilson:
I first started painting in my early 20’s, but put away my brushes and canvas and didn’t touch them again for many years. Picking them up again a few years ago I played with what I might want to express. I have found that the feelings, the passion, and the chaos in my head and heart rarely have form, shape, or definition.
I recently started playing with texture, and found that using texture and loud colors made it possible for me to put on canvas what is going on for me. This journey has been fun, messy, and liberating.
I am moving to the other side of the planet soon, and look forward to learning different forms of art and hopefully finding new ways for self-expression. Please accept my invitation to view my art work and help to launch me on my journey while helping to raise funds for those desperately in need.
After the 7.9 magnitude earthquake hit Nepal on April 25th, 2015 rural villages bordering Kavre and Bhaktapur Districts have been completely decimated. Approximately 500 homes were either destroyed or were left uninhabitable. The villages have lost their homes, their belongings, their income and livelihood. A portion of all sales from Heart Eclipse by Rachel Ann Wilson will go to buy school supplies and pay for running water for one of those villages in the Kavre district destroyed by the earthquake which left the area with a severe lack of food resources and no running water. The local school was left crumbled and is in the process of being rebuilt.
Attend the exhibition, support local artists, art programs and the opportunity to raise money for those who severely need our help! Join us Saturday, August 12th, 2017 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm only at Altered Egos Art House inside of the Sacramento LGBT Community Center, 1927 L Street, Sacramento.
