A big thank you to CASA de ESPAÑOL
for hosting this presentation of legal rights and training to be an ICE legal observer («Migra Watch»).
What is Migra Watch?
Migra Watch is a community-powered rapid response network that provides helps fight immigration detentions and deportations in norther California. The network is a direct response to the surge of Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids tearing apart immigrant families and creating familial and financial hardships within the community.
How does Migra Watch work?
People witnessing an ICE raid/pick-up or those with knowledge of an upcoming raid/pick-up can alert Migra Watch by calling (916) 245-6773. Migra watch dispatchers then use these tips to direct first responders in the immediate area to the scene of the incident.
Migra Watch offers community support even after incidents happen: Dispatchers notify families of detainees and connect them with legal assistance, while responders use recordings and notes captured at raid sites for possible legal use. Migra Watch responders then provide family support and reach out to media and elected officials to raise visibility and help fight the detention and/or deportation of the individual.
How can I get involved in Migra Watch?
